The location was the only thing we liked. We booked a room at hotel eden in Florence, but when we arrived they sent us across the street to a different hotel, and the room wasn’t what we’d booked. We chose this hotel mainly because we were told it had air conditioning. There was a unit in the room, but it didn’t work, and they told us they wouldn’t turn it on. It was incredibly hot, so we had to leave the windows open. That barely helped, and the noise outside our room went on all night, so we hardly slept. The photos showed two chairs, but there weren’t any, which meant one of us always had to sit on the bed. We were so disappointed.

I felt uneasy staying here because of a key rule I only learned about after arriving. The receptionist said guests have to leave their room keys at reception whenever they go out, something that hadn't been mentioned when I booked. That gives the hotel ongoing access to the room while you're away, and I had no say in who might enter. This is a serious privacy and safety concern for me. It should be clearly disclosed, so know about it before you book. I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

We had to arrive very late in the night because of an emergency, and the staff were super accommodating. The rooms were clean, service was good, and I have no complaints. It was a great place to stay, definitely recommend.

Being just an 8 minute walk from the train station made it easy to get around Florence. The staff were friendly and helpful the whole time, and as a first time visitor I found the stay comfortable and straightforward. I had a great experience and would recommend the hotel to anyone coming to the city.

I could easily walk to the popular sights from this excellent location, and the room itself was quite nice. The staff were kind too. But the window on the first floor didn't keep out the traffic sound, so I heard cars all night and kept waking up early in the morning.
