Hotel Fedora

In my opinion, those beds were awful. They were rollaways, and they literally rolled away with us on them, which was not what I needed after a very long travel day. When we asked staff for help, he ended up threatening me. So I guess Hotel Fedora is run by thugs. Go at your own risk.

The beds felt unstable, and getting into the place was difficult. The room was dirty, with hair and stains on the sheets. It felt more like an old apartment split into rooms than a proper hotel, and the atmosphere was unwelcoming and unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We spent the New Year period here with my family, during winter, and had a wonderful stay. The room was large and clean, and being right in the center of Florence made sightseeing much easier. We loved the atmosphere and the staff, especially the lovely woman who served breakfast and the two very polite men. They did everything they could to make the visit more enjoyable.

The owner knocked on our door, walked away, then shouted from halfway down the hall for us to leave a good review. Good reviews come from good service. This isn’t a hotel I’d choose. The location is great, but the doors are old and outdated. Our key broke, and we needed help. The room was dated too, with paper-thin walls and doors that let sound through from everywhere. Skirting boards were falling off, and it looked like the rooms hadn’t been painted since they were built. There was an error with our booking. The owner asked us to cancel and pay directly to avoid a Booking.com fee, even though Booking.com said we wouldn’t get a refund. We had to pay extra in cash and weren’t given a receipt. Very shady.
