Helvetia & Bristol Firenze – Starhotels Collezione

The hotel has a lovely mix of modern and baroque style, and its central location meant we could walk everywhere. Staff were polite, responsive, and happy to handle requests. We had a fabulous stay, and the restaurant and its servers were fantastic. The spa and massages were interesting and refreshing, too. They sell produce from their farm, so give it a try. The flavor was captivating enough that I bought extra virgin olive oil, pickled mushrooms, and tomato sauce made with apple cider vinegar.

The breakfast was excellent, and Ornella was a fabulous hostess. Her wonderful energy put a smile on our faces each morning. The front desk team, doormen, and concierge were professional, friendly, and helpful. Our suite was beautifully fitted out with all the amenities we needed, and the bed was very comfortable. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The bar and lobby were very welcoming, and the location put everything close by. We didn’t eat dinner there, but the restaurant looked fantastic. This is our seventh hotel on the current holiday, and Helvetia & Bristol has been far and away the best. Highly recommend it. We’ll return to Florence, but now we’re worried every other hotel will disappoint!

After a day out in the city, we really appreciated the spa’s relaxing hour. It was also easy to explore on foot from this perfectly central location. Breakfast was excellent both times we had it. There was plenty to choose from, the fresh fruit was good quality, and everything was attractively laid out and replenished. The scrambled eggs were especially tasty and cooked just right. Our room was beautiful, spotless, comfortable, and had lots of thoughtful amenities. The staff were attentive, professional, and welcoming, always greeting us with a genuine smile. Everything was well organised, and we had a fantastic stay. We’d definitely return.

The staff were lovely and went out of their way to help us feel comfortable. The property and room were beautiful, and housekeeping did a great job. At around $1K a night, I expected everything to be perfect, which is why I’m giving four stars. The air conditioner made loud gurgling and draining sounds that woke me several times. I called down, but the noise kept happening, so apparently it couldn’t be fixed. There was also a flickering light, and water leaked through a gap by the shower glass and pooled on the floor. These probably wouldn’t bother me as much at a much cheaper hotel, but at this price they did.
