Home in Florence

There’s plenty to do on the quiet street, and the rooms in this apartment building are big and attractive. It’s a lovely find a little beyond the tourist area. Service is available for only a few hours, but it was very good. Breakfast costs 5 euros per person, or you can have free tea and coffee from a proper machine, not capsules.

The two owners were so welcoming and kind. When train cancellations made us late, they got in touch first and arranged self check-in. We also appreciated being able to leave our bags after checkout. The place felt like a beautiful, clean, authentic home, and it was easy to explore on foot from there. Breakfast was nice, and the coffee room stayed open all day for coffee, cookies, or water. Coming back to the room during and after our adventures felt relaxing. I’d recommend it to anyone after a clean, low-key place close to everything.

For the price, the room was very spacious, with a mini fridge, and everything was in great shape. The bathroom was clean too. I stayed one night at Home in Florence and had breakfast the next morning: a buffet with water, coffee, juices, savory and sweet brioche, plus other homemade sweets. The whole experience and service were really good, and I found the B&B beautiful and comfortable.

A number of restaurants near the B&B serve regional food and don’t seem aimed at tourists. Florence’s main sights are also reachable on foot in around 30 minutes, and the bus stops right outside are handy for getting to and from the hotel or into town. We stayed south of the Arno, about a five-minute walk from Palazzo Pitti. The first-floor rooms were large and comfortable, with a bathroom that had both a shower and a bathtub. Breakfast was generous, and the coffee machine was available all day. We arrived in the evening and didn’t meet our hosts until morning, but check-in went smoothly. Giulia and Sonia were helpful throughout, including arranging an early taxi to the train station. We’d be very happy to return to Florence and stay here again.
