Hotel City

I had to cancel my trip unexpectedly at the last minute and gave two days' notice. The hotel still refused to issue any credit for the $1,000 I had paid through Expedia. I got credit from the airlines and refunds for other activities, so I was very disappointed. Check the hotel's terms carefully, including its 3-day non-refundable policy before check-in.

The staff were fantastic. They helped us find places to eat and shop, gave us local wine opinions, and even let us use the breakfast room to play cards and drink the wine bottles we'd found in the city. Breakfast was simple and tasty, with enough choices for everyone without being overwhelming. We had the family suite, which gave everyone plenty of space. The hotel isn't modern, but everything worked. A great place to stay in Florence.

The family who run the place clearly take pride in it. The staff remembered our names and didn't laugh at our attempts to speak Italian. There are nice restaurants nearby and everything is just a few minutes' walk away. We had a triple room that was nice, with a roomy bathroom, and breakfast was delicious. We couldn't have chosen a better place in Florence.

The people at Hotel City were the best part of our stay. They were warm and upbeat, shared recommendations, and even helped us book local restaurants. The place felt cosy and safe, almost like being at home. The ladies in the kitchen were especially welcoming at breakfast, which had all the basics for starting the day. I visited in December and loved the traditional Tuscan interiors in both the shared areas and our room. Everything was exceptionally clean and well kept, with excellent daily housekeeping. I really enjoyed my stay and would be very happy to return.
