Hotel Marios

The service is very good, and the breakfast buffet was good too. It’s an older but clean hotel near the old town, with renovated bathrooms. The one downside for me was the poor sound insulation.

The bed was firm and comfortable, and the windows open so you can air out the steam. I liked the room’s design, especially the little bathroom, which has a small table by the sink for all my things. It’s close to the train station and the main square, with Santa Maria cathedral, a museum, restaurants, and shops nearby.

The rooms aren’t especially luxurious and breakfast isn’t especially lavish, but you get the warm atmosphere and authentic feel of an old hotel. What really makes this place special is the very friendly, helpful staff. They helped with phone calls, parking, luggage, and everything through checkout. All of them deserve praise.

The hotel is over 100 years old, and some of the furniture is antique. That’s just a note about the style, not a complaint. It feels cozy and clean, almost like being at home, and the bathrooms have been renovated recently. There’s free natural and sparkling water available around the clock. It’s near Santa Maria Novella train station, and you can easily walk your luggage to the hotel if it isn’t raining. The staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast was good, especially the croissants. Recommended!
