Hotel Masaccio Florence

For the price, this is a reasonable affordable stay in Florence, though remember it's a one-star hotel. My bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the staff were kind. The bathroom is shared, but clean, and the shower is inside the room. The main drawbacks were the thin windows, which let in a lot of street noise, and how cold the room felt.

The hosts are welcoming and very helpful. For a one-star hotel, and probably one of the cheapest options in Florence, it deserves a five-star rating.

It's a cozy little place, and the staff are incredibly friendly. Alessandro kindly left my room key for me because I was arriving very late. The location is good, within walking distance of the main city square, and the shared bathroom was clean and pleasant. The nearby road can be noisy, so light sleepers may want earplugs. I'd happily come back.

After we were robbed in Rome, we had to wait for a temporary passport before coming to Florence. We were welcomed with details about local sights, transport tips, and basically everything we needed, all within walking distance. It felt like a home away from home, secure, very clean, and convenient, right in central Florence. We extended our stay again and again. At the US consulate, there were people who'd been robbed too, with their safe, luggage, money, and passports taken.
