Hotel Toscana

The room is really only for sleeping, which works well in Florence. Everything is tiny, including what may be the world's smallest shower and elevator, but the hotel is organized and well cared for, and the location is genuinely premium.

For a weekend in Florence, this is a good-value base. The room was spacious, the pillows very comfortable, and the double-glazed windows helped. There’s no breakfast, though a fantastic bakery is just up the road. We could leave our bags securely before check-in and after check-out, and the staff let us check out an hour late for free. The station, Duomo, Uffizi, and everything else were about a seven-minute walk away.

The front rooms can get noisy at times because there’s a bar downstairs, and the sound insulation could be better. Still, I’d definitely recommend the hotel. It’s close to everything in Florence, has an elevator, which is uncommon in Italy, and the team is easy to reach on WhatsApp. When we had a room problem, they responded right away and offered lots of suggestions. Thanks for the hospitality!

We had a pleasant short stay, with a very comfortable bed and pillows, and everything was clean and tidy. The location is central but on a street that isn’t too hectic. The property has an arrangement with a nearby breakfast bar. It’s a shame breakfast isn’t served at the hotel, so we had to go out for it, but that was manageable.
