Hotel Veneto Firenze

The location and nice staff were the upsides. But I wouldn’t stay more than one night because it was VERY LOUD, and I don’t think the price matches what you get. It felt like a hostel. We only found out later that there’s an open-air club directly in front of the hotel. On a Saturday in February, it played loud bass-heavy music well past midnight. I don’t know how that’s allowed in the city center. The WiFi was slow and laggy, sometimes completely gone. The overhead shower had very weak flow, the bathroom door wouldn’t stay shut, and the interior was very run down.

We had to take cold showers for two days, and the heater was switched off in the middle of the night during winter. The WiFi didn’t work either. The bed was meant to have a double mattress, but it was actually two singles pushed together. The location was great, but the hotel was terrible and not worth what we paid. I’ve never left a negative review before, but I had to. It felt very negligent. TERRIBLE.

The rooms were clean, but their appearance, the bed quality, and the smell were horrible. For what you get, it’s much too expensive. The staff were extremely friendly and nice. The position near the Duomo and Santa Maria della Novella train station is about the only other thing worth mentioning.

The staff were friendly and fixed our leaking air conditioning within a day. Breakfast was reasonable, and the rooms were clean, basic, and functional. The hotel isn’t close to major tourist sights, aside from the local market. We had trouble finding it, so get a taxi if you’re going. There’s no lift, and we struggled with our luggage on the stairs. They offered to help with only one bag.
