Hotel Villani

It's a nice little rooftop terrace with a great view, and we had a good chat with two Aussie's who were staying at the hotel. The owner or manager greeted us and explained that the elevator was out of commission, so they couldn't serve alcohol. We could sit on the terrace and have a nonalcoholic drink if we wanted. This was on May 21, 2026. The elevator was broken, so we had walked up 4+ flights to get there. I gave 4 stars for the location, friendliness, and view. They should put a sign at the bottom of the stairs saying the bar is closed until the elevator is fixed 🙂

The rooftop terrace was really awesome, and the front desk staff were kind. They also shared some great local restaurant tips and joked around with us. I stayed here for 4 nights with my wife on our honeymoon, and the place was awesome. It felt like going back in time in the best way. The rooms are a bit dated, but they're well kept and very clean, which adds to the italian charm. We had a fantastic view of the duomo right outside our window. Thanks for a great stay.

The staff were really nice, and the room was clean and spacious. It’s right in the centre, with lovely views, and honestly, everything was good.

We loved having breakfast on the roof in the sunshine, with a view of the Duomo. There was a good selection: pastries, bread, meat, cheese, fruit, juice and coffee, plus cereal and yogurt. The rooftop bar and seating area have an impressive view too. The hotel was easy to find and in a fantastic location. Our room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the shower had great pressure and temperature. The staff were friendly, and communication before we arrived was prompt and reassuring. We were there for our honeymoon, and they made us feel special on top of the already great service. We’d happily stay again and recommend it to friends or family visiting Florence. The stairs are a workout, so we’d suggest taking the elevator and saving your legs for exploring.
