LC41 Suites

The flat’s in a handy spot, about a 20-minute walk from the duomo, with lots of places to eat along the way, and there’s plenty of room. That’s the good part. We stayed four nights in Florence, and quite a few things didn’t work well. The website mentioned parking, but the flat didn’t provide any. There’s a public lot nearby, though finding a space is really hard and it costs a lot. We drove out to Villa Costanza instead, where parking was affordable and there was room. It was fairly noisy. The walls and front door are thin, and because the suite is split into two rental flats, we could hear people coming and going next door. One time the cleaner, who was supposed to clean the other flat, walked into ours while we were there. We’d been told there wouldn’t be any cleaning during our stay. Maybe he came to bring a sponge, since the one we found was dirty and had been left by the previous guests. The boiler also starts making noise whenever someone uses warm water, so a light sleeper could be woken up by their partner washing their hands. Cleaning was passable, but dust was a problem. The bathroom radiator, the only place to hang towels, was covered in dust. With two guests we got four towels, and there wasn’t nearly enough room for them on the radiator even if it had been clean. Some hooks would help. The spare pillows were in an open, very dusty wardrobe, so we didn’t use them. The mattress was comfortable enough, but very short: I’m 175 cm and my feet stuck out a little, while my boyfriend had an even harder time. The pillows we did use felt almost nonexistent. The bedding setup had two sheets with a duvet between them. The duvet was stained, and it kept poking out because the sheets were smaller, so you could end up touching it. Not pleasant. The Wi-Fi password we got from the landlords was wrong, and the connection dropped often anyway, which made streaming difficult. We barely used the kitchen, except for the small fridge.

One of the best apartments I’ve stayed in, and I’ve stayed in quite a few. There’s plenty of room for a family of four. The tiny lift can be a bit of a squeeze 😂, but the apartment more than makes up for it.
