Hotel Leopolda

The owner was so kind and funny, and even helped us print our train tickets. We loved the breakfast, especially the excellent coffee and amazing cake. The room was lovely and the beds were comfy. I’d stay again!

The complimentary breakfast was a great way to fuel up before exploring Florence. Staff were very friendly and helped us find our way around the big city. Our room had lots of space and a good layout. It’s about a 15 minute walk from downtown, though buses can get you where you want to go pretty quickly.

The room was pretty clean and I rested well. It wasn’t anything special, and the building is really old, like most buildings in Florence, but I felt safe and comfortable, which was all I needed from it. The manager and other staff were excellent, pleasant, and accommodating. They suggested good places to visit and explained how to get around and what was and wasn’t worth paying for. There’s no AC, but September was a comfortable temperature. Florence has lots of mosquitoes, so try not to sleep with the windows open. From what I understand, most hotels there don’t have AC.

It’s close to the city center, with clean rooms and bathrooms, and breakfast included. The man who works there is very nice and helpful if you need information about town, so ask him. Breakfast was okay compared with other hotels, but a bit weak for me as a Swede. If you need street parking outside, look for blue lines. Apparently those spots are for tourists and others, and nobody will check whether you pay.
