The annex we were put in smelled strongly of chemical roach spray, and it was hard to breathe. Outside there were homeless people, the view wasn’t good, and it felt very unsafe at night. Inside, the stairway lights were out, which seemed like a serious safety issue. The place was poorly kept, with dirty floors, spider webs on the walls, and visible water damage on the ceiling. The main location seems nice, which makes it unfortunate that the annex doesn’t meet acceptable hospitality standards. As someone who travels often, this was one of my most disappointing stays in Florence.

We were lucky to have a room overlooking the Florentine New Year parade. The hotel itself is charming, renovated to a high standard, and in a fabulous location. If you’re staying outside the main building, there’s one of the town’s best cafés right across the street.

Great service and a perfect location made for a fantastic stay. The rooms are a bit dated, but they’re a good size and have everything you need.

The staff were so friendly and always willing to help. My room was roomier than I expected, perhaps because it was the off-season, and the air conditioning heated it really well. This was the most satisfying hotel I booked on the trip.
