We were left waiting outside until we paid a large extra amount over the phone. The apartment also looked nothing like the photos of the place we had booked. The host was rude, and although he said he would refund part of what we paid, he never did. Do not book here.

The address on the reservation voucher wasn’t even correct, and they ignored our complaints. At check-in, the city tax had gone up considerably, but they took no responsibility for anything. We paid for a two-bedroom apartment listed on Booking.com as sleeping five, but that place doesn’t exist. What we got was a studio duplex with one double bed and a filthy, worn-out sofa. Avoid this property.

Florence itself was beautiful, but our stay got off to a terrible start. The host demanded an extra payment that hadn’t been disclosed before he would unlock the apartment. We had nowhere else to stay, so my friends and I had to pay. Avoid this place.

They asked us for a €100 security payment before our stay and said it would be returned within a week. It still hasn’t reached my bank account, and nobody is responding to our calls or emails. Unacceptable.

The place was listed on Booking as Coach 8. After we’d already paid through Booking, they tried to get us to pay again. When we refused, they left us stranded in the street. Booking helped us find another place to stay.
