Hotel Machiavelli Palace

Service was great, with very friendly and helpful employees. Breakfast was okay, and the rooftop has a great view. The balance of quality, price, and location is very good, and I'd return despite the drawbacks. The hotel is just minutes from the train station and a couple of blocks from Mercato Centrale, with plenty of shops and places to eat nearby. The hotel itself is okay, with spacious rooms but a tiny bathroom. The building is old but looks renovated; it was clean apart from what looked like some mould in a corner. Soundproofing wasn't very good, and the third floor was noisy. We were cold at night.

Someone was always around, 24x7, and the property was superbly managed, unlike other European hotels. Breakfast was superb and included with the booking. It's one of the best locations in Florence, with all the sights reachable on foot. Station Santa Novelle Firenze, or Florence Centrale, is under an eight-minute walk away.

We just got home from a lovely five-day stay, and the service and location would definitely bring us back. The staff were really friendly, and daily room cleaning was a great touch. Most places to visit in Florence are literally a 5-10min walk away. We'd stay here again if we returned ❤️ Our family room was spacious and clean, though a little dated, with marks and signs of damage on the sinks, lamps, and furniture. The WiFi was a little touchy. We didn't spend much time in the room during the day because we were out exploring, so it wasn't really an issue.

The room had a lovely view, especially from the bathroom, where you could see the Duomo. The hotel is in a handy spot near everything, and the staff were kind and very attentive. I really enjoyed staying here. The one awkward moment was when the man returning our stored luggage dropped it hard on the floor, which could have damaged anything fragile inside.
