My wife, a big Medici fan thanks to Netflix, was determined to see the Medici Chapel. Tickets aren't included with the other San Lorenzo sites, so plan ahead. We got there at 1:30 PM when the crowds were light. There are separate queues for Firenze Card holders and people booking on the spot, and we waited only five minutes. Bags are scanned at the entrance. The chapel looks stunning once you know some of its history. An audio guide or video gives enough context, and the information cards beside the sculptures are useful, so I don't think you need a live guide. There are seats scattered around, and the temperature was comfortable. Toilets are on site. Don't touch the exhibits. There's also a crypt, though I found it underwhelming. It's just a glass wall for a quick look, nothing eerie or memorable. I'd recommend the visit to Medici enthusiasts, but reading up on the history beforehand adds to the experience.

This place is underrated as a Florence visit. The chapel ceiling art is amazing, and the whole visit can take just 15 minutes. Tickets may cost anywhere from 14 to 25 euro, depending on the day.

To me, it's the most beautiful chapel in Firenze. I waited an hour to get into the Duomo, but this was much less crowded and far more impressive.

It's well worth seeing in Florence, and you can include it in the €25.00 ticket that covers about five museums in the city. The site is spectacular in person and has a really interesting history. I'd allow about 45 minutes to be safe. A good visit.

Standing in front of Lorenzo's grave moved me deeply, even though I only know a little about him. Chapel of the Princes was absolutely stunning too, and I could have stayed there all day. The place is beyond breathtaking; photos and videos don't come close to capturing the feeling of awe. I wasn't sure it would be worth it since there didn't seem to be much to see, but I'm glad I went. One thing to know when entering the museum: the ornate glass cases in the first chamber hold relics. If you don't want to look at or photograph human bones, walk straight through that low-ceilinged medieval-looking hall to Chapel of the Princes.
