The rooms were clean and quiet, and breakfast tasted good, though there wasn’t much choice. The dining space is small, so timing helps. The location is excellent, within walking distance of SMN station and the main sights, but take care with personal safety in the surrounding area. There’s no restaurant or room service, so you’ll need to eat out. Check-in and checkout were both quick and attentive. At check-in, they took special care of us because of the guest’s higher Accor loyalty tier. Free coffee and water at reception were a nice extra.

The old town’s sights are easy to reach on foot, and getting to the hotel from the airport by tram was simple, as quick as or quicker than taking a car. The hotel was converted from the old Apollo / Rex theatre, and it works well: the rooms are modern, comfortable, and quiet. We couldn’t hear the trains or traffic. Its location is a real plus, and there’s free water and coffee at reception.

We booked three rooms for a big family trip, and being so close to the main station made managing all our heavy luggage much easier. The rooms felt modern and very clean, with a fresh, aromatic smell when you walked in. The front desk deserves five stars: check-in was fast, they explained the policies clearly, and covered what we needed to know as loyalty members. Two rooms met Mercure standards perfectly, but the third fell short. Its water pressure was so low that showering was impossible, and we later found it had no toilet paper. We discovered how bad it was late at night and didn’t want to bother the staff again. Earlier, when we mentioned the noisy humidity fan, the staff promptly offered a free room upgrade on another floor. We turned it down because we wanted to stay together on the same floor, but appreciated their effort to help. Breakfast was decent quality but had few choices, and the dining room was tiny and crowded at busy times. Scrambled eggs and bacon ran out very quickly and took a long time to be refilled. There didn’t seem to be enough dining staff during peak hours. We paid for breakfast and felt it might not be worth it. You can find good breakfast options at the train station or about a 3-minute walk from the hotel. A solid 4.5-star experience for the location and front desk service.

The staff did everything they could to make our visit special, and we felt right at home. We had a wonderful two-night stay at the Mercure in Florence. The breakfast was delicious, and the clean, modern rooms were very comfortable. Fantastic location too. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Florence.
