MH Florence Hotel & Spa Resort

The station is really close, which made getting around easy. My husband and I had a lovely stay, and the receptionist kindly upgraded us when we mentioned we were at MH Florence for our honeymoon. Our room was neat and clean, with a balcony where we watched both sunrise and sunset. It was well worth staying here.

We stayed in October 2024, and the location was a big plus: a nice part of town, right by the high-speed trains, with car rental just 50 feet away. The room seemed brand new, modern, very nice, and super clean. The hotel is large and has all the amenities. The outdoor pool looks sleek, and although the spa downstairs is small, we enjoyed it. It's well equipped and connects to the outdoor pool. And do get your laundry done here. The detergent smells incredible. I know that sounds silly, but trust me!

The staff are really nice, and the rooms are clean and modern. Breakfast was adequate to get the day started, and there's a pool with loungers. It's a handy location for Florence, about a 25-minute walk to the center and five minutes from the train station. We had two long days out sightseeing, though, and after the first the room hadn't been vacuumed. After the second, nobody had come in to tidy up or clean or change the towels. They said we'd asked them not to service the room, then sent up some towels and two small bottles of water. There was also confusion over the bill. The evening before our early airport pickup, I asked the male receptionist three times whether to settle up then or in the morning. At first he was going to book us a taxi, then he asked if we wanted a breakfast bag, and only on the third try did we get the bill settled. I checked with him that everything was paid, and he said it was. At 6:30 the next morning, the night receptionist said there was still a balance. He checked and found the visitor tax for one night had been missed by the receptionist who had worked out the bill, and confirmed it was a mistake. Without the cleaning problems and that last bill mix-up, I'd have given top marks. The hotel should address both. Check the final bill, especially the visitor tax.

The location was great, and the room worked for what we needed. The bed was another story: the mattress wasn't comfortable, and the pillows were so thin that we asked for more, only to find those were thin too. We laughed about it since we were there just two nights, but we'd probably choose somewhere else next time. Management should replace the pillows.
