The bed sold as a “queen” was clearly two beds pushed together. It was uncomfortable and noisy whenever we moved, so we slept poorly. The room and service left a lot to be desired, especially for the price and a chain that promotes its guest service and hospitality. We’re frequent travelers, and from arrival the experience felt transactional, with little welcome. We told the concierge it was our honeymoon, but there was almost no acknowledgment or effort to make it feel special. They seemed not to care. There were lots of stairs up to the lobby, yet nobody offered help with our luggage, which felt unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. Even the basics felt like they were being charged extra. There was no complimentary water, and bottled water in the room cost €5. This was one of the more disappointing hotel stays we’ve had while traveling. The service lacked the warmth, attention and hospitality we expected at this price.

The front office team’s local recommendations really made the trip, and they did a lovely job making our stay feel personal. Check-in was quick and easy, and everyone was friendly and helpful throughout. A big thanks to the whole team for a memorable stay at NH Hotel Firenze.

The rooms were modern and nice, and every employee we met was very pleasant. Breakfast had an amazing range of choices, although it was so busy that finding a seat was hard. I really didn’t like the location. We arrived by train from Rome, and it was a long walk both from the station and from the city center, where the tourist sights and restaurants are.

Breakfast was great, and most things in the room felt well thought out and nicely designed. It had everything, with nice decor, comfortable chairs and bed, and a big bathroom. I’d definitely go again. The room lighting was very dim, with no way to make it brighter. We also called reception many times once and never got an answer. At night, if your friend or partner gets up to use the bathroom, some lights switch on automatically and can wake you.

The rooftop bar noise was a downside, and the pool closing at 6 pm was disappointing in a heat wave. There was mold in the shower, and the hotel is a long way from the city center, so taxi fares add up. The air conditioning worked really well, which was a big plus in that heat. Breakfast was nice and the staff were nice too.
