The location is definitely a plus, but I wouldn’t stay here again. I booked a “deluxe double room” that cost more than a stay of the same length in Milan, which is ranked as Europe’s most expensive city, yet the amenities were minimal. There was a cheap coffee machine, a rusty kettle, basic coffee and tea, no cutlery at all, just wooden sticks, and tiny plastic cups. The bathroom soap left my skin very dry. For the price, I expected more care in the details. It did the basic job of providing somewhere to stay, but that’s about it. The smell in the building was another major problem. As soon as I entered through the front door, there was an unbearable stench that seemed to come from downstairs, mixed with the strong leather smell from the shop next door. It made me feel sick. Thankfully it didn’t reach the rooms, or I would have left, but it was unpleasant to come home to or start the day with. I’d look elsewhere.

This has been the best hotel on our honeymoon so far, and I’d recommend it to family and friends. The price was affordable and reasonable, and check-in was easy. They contact you by SMS or WhatsApp. The place was spotless and well kept, with bright, clean hallways in a building that didn’t feel too old or creepy. It’s a few meters from ponte vecchio, with leather stores and a convenience store or mini grocery along the street. The bathroom was perfect, very spacious, and had a clothesline by the window, a hair dryer, and a heater. The bedroom had a big clean bed, lots of floor space, a small dining area, working air conditioning, a nice Samsung flat screen TV, good lamps, enough power sockets, and a mini fridge. More pillows would be a good improvement. 11 out of 10, and hopefully it’s available for our next stay here.

Firenze, or Florens, is such a wonderful city. This small apartment is just right for two, and the location is hard to beat, just off the Ponte Vecchio bridge.
