Residenza D'Epoca Sant Anna

Coming back after a day out in Florence was lovely. The rooms were bright, spotless, and decorated with great taste. They had a peaceful, charming feel, and being surrounded by the city's history, art, and elegance made the stay feel special.

The location is ideal for walking to Florence's attractions, and I'd happily stay here again. The room was spacious and clean, with a large clean bathroom and a very comfortable memory foam bed. It can be noisy, but after a full day exploring I had no trouble sleeping. Earplugs are provided if you'd like to leave the windows open. Mosquitoes were a bit annoying, though that's the downside of having the window open.

The check-in went smoothly for us, and the staff were kind and helpful. You just need to read the instructions. That's why it's hard to write this, but I found the place a health hazard. There was a lot of black mold on the walls and an awful smell. I've seen some mold before in humid places, but this was far too much. Cleaning also seemed inadequate: the red mold in the shower could have been removed easily, and the towels smelled. I can only imagine what else wasn't cleaned. The heaters need servicing too, because they seem to be blowing out something other than clean air.

I was left for hours without access to my room or instructions, and had to call my credit card company just to reach “reception.” The rooms are private hostel-style rooms, and the place is not a hotel as advertised. The bathrooms kept leaking and the bed was caving in. The rooms looked nothing like the photos. For the same price, I could have stayed somewhere much nicer. Beware, this felt like a scam.
