Residenza Mondragone

The building itself was a problem from the moment we arrived. There was a strong damp basement and sewage smell at the entrance, and we saw five dead cockroaches there. The elevator only fits one person at a time, with a risk of getting stuck if anyone else gets in. Our key requirement was secure, enclosed parking. We told the staff in advance and made clear that we’d arrive late, but nobody mentioned that the garage would be closed on Sunday. We had to look for another place to park late at night after a long drive, while handling our luggage, and the nearest options cost much more than expected. The hotel showed no understanding and offered no solution. The place also felt more like an apartment than a hotel. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone expecting reliable service, responsibility, or promises to be kept.

We spent four days here and really enjoyed it. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely equipped, and the staff were so friendly and helpful that we felt at home. You can walk all over Florence from this central spot, but the room still felt quiet and private.

The room was enormous and clean, and the service and location were both good. We checked in remotely late at night and had no trouble at all. It’s expensive, but I think it’s worth the price.

The room and bathroom were bright, comfortable, and roomy. The windows looked out pleasantly onto the street, and there was a lovely public square with a beautiful church and restaurants just a few metres away.
