Residenza Vespucci

We came for our honeymoon and felt so welcome from the moment we arrived. Lorella and Francesco had thought of everything, anticipated our needs, and made us feel truly pampered. Their hospitality was unmatched, from the delicious wines, cocktails, and homemade snacks to their excellent local suggestions. The rooms are beautiful and full of character, with an artistic Florentine feel. The balcony views were incredible, and after a day exploring, it was lovely to unwind with a glass of wine. We wish we'd stayed longer and can't wait to return to Florence and stay here again.

We came for our honeymoon, and Residenza Vespucci is the kind of hotel I didn't think you'd still find these days. It's right by the river, within walking distance of celebrated Florentina heritage brands and restaurants, and the balcony views are stunning. Francesco is a real host, warm, original, knowledgeable, and hospitable in the best European tradition. You never arrive or leave without a glass of Prosecco to take back to your room, or another of the carefully chosen drinks in the Loggia. The rooms are majestic and decorated with vintage Italian and French heritage designer pieces. They've been kept much as you'd expect in such a historic place, and you feel like a movie star from old Hollywood. His collection of silver framed Salvatore Ferregamo Carres and Emilio Pucci vintage fabrics is breathtaking. I'm more of a Rome and Naples person, honestly, but I'd return to Florence mainly to stay at this beautiful, welcoming place again.

From the moment I arrived, I felt that Francesco, the host, had no interest in treating me with basic respect or hospitality. He was openly racist, shockingly rude, and completely unprofessional. I had booked the so-called Grand Suite, but found a filthy, neglected room that smelled of sewage. Cockroaches were crawling around, and it looked like the room hadn't been cleaned before I got there. When I raised these issues, Francesco was dismissive and arrogant, refused to help, and made things worse with an aggressive attitude and no accountability. This was one of the worst booking experiences I've had. It felt like a health hazard and a complete disgrace. Avoid the place. There are better places run by people who understand hospitality, and Francesco shouldn't be hosting anyone.

The location is excellent, close to the city centre and attractions, and the balcony and view were really nice. The rooms were clean and quite nice, though a bit small and easy to crowd with luggage. Lorela was the most welcoming and helpful host we've met in Italy. Her attitude alone was enough to earn this place five stars.
