You pay for the location, which is great, but next time I'd spend a bit more for comfort. The place is very dated. The bathroom was especially old, and everything felt like it might fall apart at any moment. You can also hear other guests using the kitchen.

Ridolfi is on the second floor of an old building, up quite a few stairs. There is a lift for heavy bags, but it only works with the room key, so you have to check in first, get the key, then return for your luggage. The Wi-Fi is weak and unreliable in room 4. You have to reconnect near the front door and hope it holds. Also, some rooms don't have ensuite bathrooms.

We spent eight nights in a double room. The location was good, around a 15-minute walk from the centre, close enough to get around but away from the noise. Rooms are big, there's a shared kitchen with coffee, tea and cups from the host, and the air conditioning worked well. The cleaning lady was very nice, and the host replied quickly. There were some real problems. The lifts didn't work, though the website hadn't mentioned that. We had to climb two floors with large luggage, and the hallway was so dim we nearly fell down the stairs several times. The shower head was completely broken when we arrived. The host replaced it the next day, which I appreciated, but it should have been changed before renting the room. Security and the doors were another concern. There's no reception, and guests just use keys to come and go. The apartment and room doors felt flimsy, like anyone could break them. The apartment felt more like a shared flat than a proper hotel. One night the door got stuck; we spent 15 minutes trying to get in, then another visitor tried for 15 minutes too. The host said it wasn't in the right position, but you could end up stuck outside at night. Breakfast was one of the things I disliked most. We paid in advance for two breakfasts every day, I think €10 per person. Earlier reviews and the website said breakfast would be delivered to the room, with croissants, bread, jam and so on. Instead, we got vouchers to use at a bakery down the road. The bakery was nice, but each ticket covered only a coffee and one croissant. Coffee costs at most €2.50 and a croissant €1.50-€2.50, so for €10 each I could just have bought breakfast myself. This wasn't what was advertised, and I recommend skipping breakfast. I wouldn't stay here again; I'd choose an Airbnb or a hotel. I've heard similar stories about other guesthouses, so maybe it's not just this place. At a lower price it might be okay, but we paid over €1,000.

The price felt completely reasonable, and the room and bed were really comfortable. Even though we arrived late, our hosts greeted us warmly and explained everything without any stress. They brought breakfast right to the room, with tea or coffee, bread, a croissant, butter, marmalade, and honey.

We had a nice stay. The area is a little removed from the tourist spots, but it's quiet and convenient. Leonardo and his mom were lovely hosts, and the room had plenty of space and a very good shower. There was also a fridge and kettle, with tea bags and sugar provided. Breakfast came to the room.
