San Jacopo Apartment

The mattresses and pillows were so uncomfortable that I barely slept. The Wi-Fi didn't work, and all but one wall outlet were faulty. The sheets and covers were filthy, way beyond just dirty. I won't even get started on the shared bathroom. The receptionist said it was shared by two rooms, but during the night we found out it was used by everyone on the floor, at least four rooms. Our room faced it, so there were constant disturbances. One inconsiderate guest even left the door open while using it. By morning the bathroom was dirtier than a dumpster, and we were honestly worried about our health. There was no soundproofing at all, so it was incredibly noisy, like sleeping in the middle of the street. We couldn't sleep and had to find somewhere else for the next day. On top of everything, they tried to charge us the city tax twice and refused to give us a receipt, claiming we'd paid online rather than on site. If you care about your well-being, don't consider staying here.

The bathroom was spacious, and the location was really good. I also found a healthy cafe called Albero nearby and had breakfast there every day: natural yogurt with fruit, nuts, honey, and granola for just 3.5 euros. Recommended ;) One uncomfortable moment, though: I woke up at 10 am and saw the two men who work there watching me while they cleaned the room. Who knows how long they’d been staring while I was asleep xd.

The location was good, but everything else was horrible. It was hard to find, the health conditions were bad, there were bed bugs, the shared bathroom wasn’t cleaned, and the towels weren’t changed. Worst experience ever.

Waiting at reception for over 10 minutes because nobody was there was frustrating, and the staff had trouble communicating in English. The AC was just okay, with water dripping, and the room wasn’t that great either. An okay hostel overall.
