San Lorenzo Chic

The view of the Duomo and the Medici Chapels almost feels like they're part of the apartment. Marina was very helpful and suggested some excellent places for Florentine steak. We also really appreciated the welcome gift: a silver tray with two tall crystal glasses, a card on parchment with the Lorenzo il Magnifico Apartment coat of arms, and a bottle of red wine from the owners' vineyards with the house logo on its label. It felt like a gesture of friendship, not just a welcome for paying guests. We found the apartment on Airbnb and loved how elegant it looked in the photos, but seeing it in person was even better. Right in the heart of Florence, it was tucked inside a building where we never expected to find such a beautiful home. The three flights of stairs weren't too difficult, even with suitcases. Once inside, the decor, cleanliness and lovely scent made the climb worthwhile. We've stayed in plenty of places booked through Airbnb and Booking.com, but never one quite like this.
