Shabby Old Town

You can hear everything happening outside, so it gets really noisy. The location, though, is perfect.

It’s an easy walk from the train station, and everything else is close by too. The street is quiet, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was fine. A shelf for toiletries would help, and another hook or two on the wall would be handy. There’s air conditioning, plus a small fridge and a kettle with tea and coffee. The restaurant ventilation didn’t bother us in winter, though it could be different in summer. It worked well for a short break.

The staff were really friendly and ready to help with anything we asked. The rooms are small but nice, with all the comforts, and the guesthouse name fits its style. It’s good value and in an excellent location for a short stay in Florence. There are three rooms sharing a bathroom, and the only drawback was the lack of soundproofing.

The shower could use a proper clean, and there’s a lot of noise. The bedding is comfortable, though, and the location is ideal.
