A few coffee shops, bars, and restaurants are just around the corner, but the area doesn't feel overwhelmed by tourists. We stayed four nights in late September 2025 and really enjoyed it. The bedroom was super clean, with a huge window for fresh air, and the bathroom was very spacious. The shower is basically a corner of the bathroom with a curtain, so it got a little slippery. That was the only odd bit and didn't spoil the stay.

The owner had thought of everything we might need for a short visit, and the kitchen and breakfast were a welcome bonus. Communication was faultless from booking onward, and being able to check in for free in the morning and leave our bags after checkout gave us extra time without luggage to worry about. We stayed three days. The B&B was spacious, bright, very clean, and in a quiet, well-positioned part of the city. I picked it because it was on the first floor, which is hard to find in Florence, and it turned out to be a great choice. They cleaned on both days, which we hadn't expected. Would highly recommend.

The location was the main draw, and it delivered. Major sights are an easy walk away, check-in was quick, and the room matched the photos. But the stay was uncomfortable. There was a terrible smell from the toilet pipes when we arrived. The owner tried to deal with it after we reported it, but it only got weaker and never disappeared. I don't know why it hadn't been handled before we checked in. The room was also cold and damp. The big windows let in cold air, and even during the day it felt warmer outside. Although there was a thermostat and air conditioning, the owner had taken the remote and controlled the heat through the radiators. When we asked to raise it above 18°C, especially with our two children along, she said that was comfortable, ignored the request, hid the controls, and switched off the remotes. That felt inconsiderate and unfriendly. The owner also kept warning us that the kitchen wasn't for “big cooking.” The utensils were already limited, so the repeated reminders felt like another unnecessary restriction and a lack of hospitality. Great location, but the service left a bad impression. The owner's refusal to meet basic comfort needs, particularly for a family with kids, means I wouldn't recommend it, especially in colder months.

Alessandra made us feel welcome and was such a lovely host. The room was nicely presented, neat, and spacious enough for two. From there it's an easy walk to the sights, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Getting to the main train station takes a short walk, though be aware of the cobblestones if you're rolling luggage, or about six minutes by bus. We'd happily stay here again next time we're in Florence.
