Hotel Stella d'Italia

The hotel's layout took me a few days to get used to, but there are lots of interesting things to notice as you find your way to the bar or rooftop. The rooms and layout make it a distinctive place, and though it's close to all the main Florence sights, the hotel itself is peaceful and relaxing. The staff are friendly and can help arrange transportation or suggest restaurants.

Getting around for walking tours and sightseeing was easy from Stella d'Italia. It was well worth the walk from the train station, and the place had a lovely bed and breakfast feel. Our room was quiet and charmingly distinctive, with bathrobes. There were plenty of choices at the continental breakfast, served by exceptionally friendly staff. The dining room felt refreshing, almost like being in an Italian movie.

The only downside was having to leave after five nights in Florence. Our Superior Double had loads of space for two people and all our things, with a separate shower, bathroom, and a short hallway for luggage and hanging clothes. It was well furnished. Breakfast was filling and tasty, with fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt, eggs, bacon, meats, cheeses, tea, and coffee made to order. Everyone on staff was super friendly and helpful. The location is incredible and felt safe to walk around at night. Our room faced away from the street and was quiet. The entrance is beautiful, there's an elevator, and the building often has a porter. If you get the chance to stay here, take it, and bring me along.

The staff were wonderful and helped us through the whole stay. They arranged outside laundry service and a restaurant booking, and even found us a snack before our early morning tour. The central location was great, our room was very nice and quiet, and breakfast was convenient with lots of choices. Highly recommend.
