The Market Urban Hotel

Driving in can be hectic at certain times, so make sure to note the ZTL. The website listed car parking at $26-45 a night, but it cost $50. The boutique hotel was very nice, and while the rooms are small, we had a GREAT patio, a really nice addition. I believe the patio rooms are only on the first floor. Everyone at the desk was very helpful.

After several nights in small, family-run Italian hotels, it was nice to stay somewhere contemporary. The mattress was super supportive, and the room had a complimentary minibar with snacks and drinks. Breakfast was very good, with pancakes as well as eggs, bacon, fruit, picked and fresh vegetables, yogurts and pastries. The breakfast area is small but more than adequate. John checked us in and gave good directions, and David was just as helpful with directions when we checked out. They also stored our luggage on departure day while we finished a few things we wanted to do. Lots of shops, restaurants, cafeterias, bakeries and even laundromats are within walking distance. It’s five minutes from Train Station Firenze Santa Maria Novella, about ten minutes from Accademia Galleria (David tribune) and 10 minutes to Duoma. We’d definitely stay again.

The hotel is small but comfortable, with clean rooms and modern decor. We were there for three nights, spending two days exploring Florence and one on a day trip to Pisa. The staff were really friendly and made the stay worthwhile. There’s a bondi restaurant right next to the hotel with delicious food. Try their pasta and pizza.

The main train station is a five minute walk away, or 5-10 with suitcases, and the main square is about ten minutes on foot. Rooms aren’t big, but fit a few large suitcases; the furniture and washrooms felt modern and artsy. The staff were super friendly and helpful, especially at the front desk, where we felt very welcome. There’s a cute little buffet breakfast, and they always ask if you’d like a cappuccino or another coffee drink to start. A lovely stay.
