There's no nightlife outside the hotel, which I didn't realize when I booked. It sits on one leg of the ski area. The singer they have every night has a good voice, but the volume makes conversation in the bar impossible. By the end of the week we'd had enough of hearing him. There was plenty of food, but it was very average. The large hotel had a small twin room, much worse than rooms I've had at other hotels. It's advertised as ski-in, ski-out, but the way out is too steep for beginners and isn't prepared. To ski back, you either walk up the slope while watching for people coming down, or take an unofficial off-piste shortcut. They also left the path to reception uncleared for three days, making it difficult to get suitcases through. The ski hire wasn't good either. I returned my skis after the first run, but staff wouldn't change them unless I paid another 25 Euros. I paid, and got a pair I could ski on for the week, though the selection was still limited. Would I stay here again? No.

The location is the one thing going for this place. For the price, it wasn't worth it. The food was average, service poor, and almost nobody spoke English. The rooms and bathrooms are old, with lots of noise coming through the walls. I could hear the people next door watching TV all night, along with showers and toilets flushing. The bed was super uncomfortable, and there was no parking available.

The main downside was that most of the supposedly hot food arrived cold, including the scrambled eggs at breakfast. That's why I gave four stars rather than five. Breakfast itself was tasty, though the same each day, while dinner varied from day to day. The staff were really good and communicated well in English. Our room was comfortable and clean. There was a well-equipped gym, a swimming pool big enough for proper swimming, and a nice playroom for children. You need to book a slot to use the pool.

The location gets two stars from me, and at least you can get straight onto the ski slopes if you dare. The room was warm, the showers hot, and the rooms clean. The cleaning staff were pleasant too. Reception spoke only Italian. Our ski locker was broken, and they didn't offer another one or make any real effort to help. They said they'd replace the lock, but never did. The food looked nicely presented, but was similar every day, often cold, with too little variety for the main meal. Bottled water left on the dining table is not free, despite how it's presented. You also have to buy a swimming cap to use the pool, and table tennis costs €10. The internet was slow, the beds had hard springs you could feel, and there was no kettle in the room.

The Pastry Chef made the biggest impression on us, looking after guests and serving truly amazing desserts. The hotel is perfectly placed, and the service was kind and professional. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. After skiing, the two small saunas and swimming pool were a nice way to relax. The man and woman at reception were both great and very helpful.
