Le Dune

The view straight out to the sea from the little bench was lovely, and the terraced houses are in a fantastic spot. We came as a family of four in early April. It was nearly 20°C with sunshine, so we even managed a quick swim. The apartment has a modern kitchen with a stove and oven, but no microwave or dishwasher. The bathroom has a shower, bidet, washing machine, and other useful things. There's a small, narrow staircase to the upper floor, and it's noisy when people go up and down. It works well for children old enough to manage it, but the stairs are very steep, so they need to be sure-footed. The mattresses are very firm, as are the thick foam pillows, which won't suit everyone, especially anyone with neck problems. We asked and were given two newer, narrower pillows. Angelo was very kind and looked after us well. He lives next door. Those pillows were foam too, no down, so we used our down jackets for stuffing ;) There was a hot water problem at first, but it got sorted out. Marika, Erika, and Angelo were all incredibly kind and caring, and helped with every little issue. The location is fantastic, right on the beach with just a bike and pedestrian path between. It's a 10-minute walk to a café or restaurant, and 30-45 minutes to the town center and pedestrian zone. I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars, taking one off because a week in spring cost €1800, plus another €50 for a week's private parking.

It's simple and works well for kids. The beach is right across the street, and because the road is a limited traffic zone (ZTL), there's not much traffic. A supermarket and shopping center are about a 10-minute drive away. We were told on the phone that card payments weren't possible, but you can pay by card or debit card, and the mezzanine beds can be pushed together.

The price is fairly high, so I'd give it three stars rather than four. The apartment is airy and comfortable for a couple with a child. There's a mezzanine with two more beds, windows, and air conditioning, and the quiet pedestrian area is a plus. Cross the street and you're at the sea.
