Hotel Villamare

The sea is literally two minutes away, and the taxi service they arrange has the best prices in the region. Hotel Villamare has nice rooms, good service, a beautiful garden, and super friendly staff. I’d happily give it 5/5 and say go for it, you won’t regret booking here. Grazie! One thing bothered me: you can’t bring beverages into the hotel. I understand that rule for alcohol, but I think water bottles should be allowed too.

The beach was a highlight: soft sand, warm, clear, shallow water, and plenty of room. You reach it through a gate just a few steps from the hotel. Our room was a good size and clean, with a nice bathroom and a small private outdoor sitting spot overlooking the garden. The hotel is tucked into a lovely garden, and the staff were caring and very helpful.

We ate at the restaurant all three nights and enjoyed it. You do need to book ahead. Excellent breakfast too, and 10/10 to the chef and front of house staff. It’s a great family hotel, with a nice pool and gardens. Our room was small, but had a nice shower and was spotlessly cleaned every day. The beach is only 100 meters away. Hope to come back soon.

The breakfast was easily the best part, with loads of choice and local treats like pistachio paste and granita. We also really enjoyed the restaurant at lunch and dinner, with both local and non-local options. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and if I come back to the area, they’ll be my first and only choice. We’d originally booked a week at the resort next door, but it was simply horrible. After leaving, we booked three nights at Hotel Villamare and wished we’d stayed there from the beginning. The room was cosy and well furnished, with a modern bathroom and useful things like a drying stand and kettle. The mattress and pillows were extremely comfortable, and there was plenty of natural and artificial light, good for a midday snooze. Parking right out front made loading and unloading easy. There’s beach access through the back gate, with a free beach 20m away and a Lido a 100m walk from the hotel.
