We had a lovely stay, and the family running the hotel were warm and quick to sort out any problems. They even went to buy plant milk for our coffee after learning about our milk intolerance, which was very thoughtful. The room was what you’d expect from a three-star hotel, while the room service deserves five stars. I do want to mention the grey parrot. Seeing it kept in a very small cage and never let out was upsetting each day. If we’d known about that beforehand, we wouldn’t have booked here. It didn’t change my rating, but it did affect our experience.

The main issue for us was the location. There’s a bus stop nearby, but the hotel sits beside a busy, noisy road, and the pool area is right next to it. The screen there does little to block the sound. The brochure from the holiday company may have set expectations too high. The place is family run and the staff are friendly, though the decor feels dated. Breakfast has limited options, and dinner quality varied. The antipasti and pasta were good, but the main courses came with frozen vegetables and desserts weren’t homemade. Housekeeping was excellent. Noisy air conditioning and a TV that didn’t work were minor issues for us.

The food was good, though there wasn’t much choice. Getting around was the harder part: the hotel is on a busy road without pavements, with little nearby. The nearest town is a 30-minute walk, or you can take a bus ride that felt quite scary.
