The restaurant and pool bar had great waiters, and the food was good. The sea view is lovely too. But service at reception was terrible, and we had a lot of problems with the shuttle. Be aware that the hotel is spread out: some rooms are a 15-minute walk from reception. The single rooms are tiny, about the size of Harry Potter’s room under the stairs, so I’d stick with a double even if you’re travelling alone.

The location is beautiful, the rooms were clean, and the beach is a quick walk away. But the front desk service was terrible. The woman was rude when we arrived and kept our passports, which no other hotel in Italy had done. When we tried to get the shuttle, she wouldn’t take us. My husband asked her to call a taxi, but she only pretended to. We waited more than half an hour, then ended up taking the bus to our port.

I really wanted to love this hotel. Everything seemed great until we got back from dinner and found the Oasis restaurant playing very loud music right above our room. Reception told me it would go on until 1 am. We hadn’t expected that, and it made for a miserable night. We won’t be back.

Really lovely place, with beautiful grounds. The heated pools were warm during our late April visit, and they require a swim cap. If you don’t bring one, you can buy one there for 2 euro. The property stretches farther than it first seems. We were staying at the far end, so breakfast and the pools were quite a walk away. For fellow Americans, you might not find much English spoken here, unlike in a bigger city. I tried a little Italian and found that helped, so be prepared.
