It was okay, and their wine is awesome.

Right in the heart of Formigine, the hotel is only steps from the medieval fortress and well placed for getting to the main centers of the ceramics district or the capital. The accommodations are simple but comfortable, and the cleanliness is excellent. There’s clearly been a change in management. Despite the many negative reviews from the past, it now comes across as a good 3-star hotel.

Formigine is a lovely town to explore on foot, and a relaxing place for a weekend away from the city. The hotel is handy if you want to avoid Modena traffic, though Modena is only a few minutes away by car. This was my second visit. The staff are approachable, friendly, and helpful, and the new management is doing its best to renovate this lovely, well-located hotel in the center of Formigine. My room was very clean and the bed comfortable. I can’t wait to return and see more of the town.

I’ve stayed here several times and have always been treated well. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and professional, especially the manager, Elisabetta. It’s in the historic center and has every comfort. Give it a try, you won’t regret it.
