We’re already looking forward to returning next year. The cooking class and dinner afterward were wonderful, and the surrounding landscape gave us plenty to enjoy, from cycling and running to climbing, waterfalls, and canyons. We also loved the quiet at your 500-year-old mansion, aside from our dogs and others barking. Dear Leonardo, thank you for having us in your little paradise. It’s been more than a week since we had to leave.

We were eight, and the house suited our group perfectly. The outdoor spaces worked well for meals and relaxing, while the kitchen had all we needed for big dinners, including two ovens. There’s also a gym, a modern pool, and a jacuzzi set in an old well. Staying in a grand 16th-century house is a rare treat, and this one is kept in excellent shape. Most of the furnishings are antiques, which feels right for the place. Leonardo was among the most helpful hosts I’ve met, suggesting wine tasting and local walks. There’s plenty to do across the Garfagnana valley, and supermarkets and Castelnuovo are close enough for essentials. The roads to the villa are narrow but in great condition. We drove from Firenze airport after dark without trouble. The hills looked stunning every day, and we’d love to come back.

The host was very friendly and arranged a private chef and a yoga teacher for us. Villa Raffaelli, a beautiful 16th-century villa, made a lovely weekend base for family and friends. We had a fantastic stay and will be back soon.

Leonardo did a wonderful job arranging things for my wife’s birthday, creating a memorable time with friends and family. Great value for money.
