Hotel Ristorante Villa Icidia

The grounds are pleasant and green, fairly well kept, with plenty of parking, and the location itself is good. The meal we had at the restaurant on our first evening tasted good, though my father became ill that night. At breakfast, the coffee was good, but everything to eat was sweet, with no savory options. There wasn’t much service either: you may need to set your own table, and the owner’s son might bring coffee and leave the tray because he’s busy. When I asked whether there were savory items, the answer was simply “NO.” In all my travels, I haven’t come across another hotel serving only sweet breakfast food. The check-in came with no information, so you have to ask if you want to know anything, though that was fine. Our room was clean, but seemed unused for a while; we opened the window as soon as we entered because it needed fresh air. The walls were all marked and need attention. There were two small bottles of water in the minibar, with no notice that they cost extra. We only found out at checkout, when they charged 3 euros, which felt cheeky. There was also a mix-up with our main course. We ordered 3 dishes, but one came out wrong and was replaced. We ended up eating at different times, and nobody apologized, which was odd. You could have a decent stay here if you’re okay with mediocre service.

We’ve been in Italy for 10 days, and David made our last meal the best one of the trip. The white vine, steak, home made pasta with porcini mushrooms, clams with pasta, and bread with olive oil were all the best we’d had. It was ultimately the best restaurant we ate at. Thank you, David, for making this trip special. We love you.

The chef in the kitchen is top notch, and David’s service was exceptional. Everything we ate was honestly delicious, the bread came warm and fresh, and the wine was perfect.

It was very easy to get there, and everything was really clean. The staff were pleasant and so accommodating 🙌🏻🙏. If you’re vegan or have allergies, just tell them in advance and they’ll sort everything out. Great experience 🍀, and I’d definitely return.
