I still remember our stay here clearly, even though it was a while ago. The landlady welcomed us with such kindness at breakfast the next morning. We stayed in a charming rustic apartment with a kitchen and a bedroom with a wrought-iron bed. The fireplace opposite the bed made it even more special.

Paola was so sweet and welcoming, and looked after us as if we were at home. The apartment was clean and cared for, and breakfast was fantastic, especially her homemade yogurt. A real little haven of peace and quiet ❤️

After a tough day cycling, I arrived and went straight into the pool. The view is breathtaking and the setting is beautiful. Patrizia and Enore are wonderful, helpful, kind people, and the family atmosphere makes you feel at home. I’ll definitely return.

There’s a hedge between this relaxing spot and the road, with evergreen lawns and the old valley in the distance. I imagine the ancient Mutino Abbey once stood there, though its traces have disappeared over time. Gianni, who often plowed those beautiful fields, used to say that four ancient oak trees stand near the riverbank, with terracotta bricks and a few bones surfacing between them. Who knows? I could be wrong, but many historians have searched without success for the Abbey dedicated to Santa Maria del Mutino. Walking along the dusty white road below, you half expect to meet a monk from the 1400s singing Ave Maristella on his way.
