We had the same bad experience as some other reviewers. We booked 72 hours ahead, but when we arrived, they said they were full and offered to drive us 4 km farther along the Via Francigena to Fucecchio. There, they put us in a decent room, but the subdivided house itself was quite the opposite. The upstairs bathroom was dirty, the hallway smelled disgusting, and the other units were very noisy. This isn't a pilgrims hostel. Don't book here.

A really good stop on the Via Francegina. It's clean, set in a cool building, and close to a square with bars serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The place has a lovely, characterful setting on a bridge, though it could use better upkeep. My friend and I stayed one night while on pilgrimage. The bedroom and corridors were very dusty, and the bathroom was somewhere between dirty and clean, with no window. There is a kitchen, but you need to bring or buy your own food, and there aren't any supermarkets close by. It was stifling in summer; leaving the window open with the fan on made it manageable.

The facilities include a kitchen, washing machine, and WiFi, with rooms that sleep two or more. I spent two nights here and would count it among the best hostels on the Via Francigena, even with all the negative reviews. It's in an old building constructed partly over the bridge. Cleanliness and organization were standard, and so was the staff.
