Villa Della Torre Allegrini Wine Relais

The meal and the bed both stood out: dinner had incredible flavors and felt truly special, and we slept soundly in a wonderfully comfortable bed. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, with loads of options. Earlier, we’d been warmly welcomed, shown our room and given a short tour of the grounds. The wine tasting included detailed information about the grounds and lovely wines chosen around our preferences, followed by time to wander with a glass of wine. We bought a couple of bottles before leaving. It was a special experience, and we’ll absolutely be back.

Everything was handled perfectly during our overnight stay at Villa della Torre allegrini, from the wine tasting to dinner and breakfast. The rooms were spotless and beautifully decorated, and the food was amazing. The staff were welcoming and capable, including with our luggage and the wine explanations. Giacomo served our dinner and breakfast and helped with our bags. He answered all our wine questions with real knowledge, and even gave my mum, who loves gardening and growing lemons, a detailed lesson on planting lemons. He deserves a promotion or a bonus. We’d highly recommend this place.

The wines were superb, especially Giovanni Allegrini - Recioto, a tasty dessert wine that’s now my favorite. We tasted five of Allegrini’s best wines, and the tour was special and interesting. It began in the garden, continued to the old sauna beneath the villa, then on to learn about the villa and its rooms, especially the Lion room. We also visited the mini church, which is still used for weddings and other special events, before heading to the winery. The villa’s setting is beautiful, with grape fields all around for the wine they make. Before leaving, we ordered six bottles to ship to Israel. The staff arranged it quickly and professionally. Highly recommended.

We first thought 50 euro per person was a bit steep for the tasting, but afterward it felt worth the money. Before visiting, Amarone was the only wine we had high expectations for. The other four were a real surprise, especially Villa della Torre Lugana, with white flowers, mineral notes, herbs and sweet almond, and Palazzo della Torre, which offers impressive quality for a 16 euro bottle. It sells for about 10 euro more in Hong Kong, and I’d definitely buy it again. I told Isabella that Allergrini lets people without much money enjoy high-quality wine, and she proudly agreed. Isabella was lovely, very knowledgeable, and organized everything well. We tried five wines: 2020 Lugana by Villa della Torre, 2019 Valpolicella Superiore by Villa della Torre, 2019 Palazzo della Torre, 2019 la Grola by Allegrini, and 2018 Amarone DOCG by Allegrini. I’d contacted her months earlier because Villa Della Torre Allergrini was at the top of my winery list and a must-visit. The building is amazing, with its fireplace, grotto, garden pond, upper and lower gardens, and small church.
