The village is gorgeous, and the price was fair. Our room was clean but quite small, and the shower wasn't good. There was no breakfast unless we waited for the bar to open to get coffee. It was fine.

I got unlucky with the weather, which was really bad, but the place I stayed was beautiful. The room and bathroom were small, though nice and clean. Breakfast was good, and the staff were polite and welcoming. I’ll come back and hope for better weather next time.

The small terrace had a wonderful view, and eating at the village restaurant, Taverna del Barone, was a real treat. I’d reserve a table outside. Shopping in the three village stores was a delight too. Once I finally found the entrance to Il Cercho di Lullo, the women there were very helpful and friendly. My room was small but tidy, clean, nicely renovated, and well maintained for a reasonable price. Getting luggage in was a bit awkward: you leave bags briefly in the adjacent parking area, then carry them about 20-30 meters. Communication with the owner was a little brief, and the window had no mosquito net. I really enjoyed my stay.

We arrived at the Locanda del Falco Nero in Fumone on March 31st, after booking a DOUBLE room on February 20th, more than a month ahead. The property was closed. After two calls, we were told, in a rather unfriendly tone, that check-in was at Cerchio di Lullo, a property a few dozen meters away owned by the same owner. She could have told us before, especially since they had contacted us several times on WhatsApp to confirm the reservation. After we completed the formalities, a very kind woman took us to our “room”: a miserable 3 x 3 meter cell, nearly empty apart from a small corner closet that could hold only three shirts, and there were just three hangers. The tiny TV, maybe 14 inches, didn’t work, and neither did the Wi-Fi. The bathroom had no window and a very noisy fan. The walls were so thin that we couldn’t sleep all night, probably because of the bathroom fan in the next room. The bed was French-sized, not a double. A double wouldn’t have fit anyway. I’m no lightweight, and I can barely fit in a French bed by myself, never mind with someone else. I complained right away, but the owner wasn’t there, I believe she lives in Naples. The employees were very kind and clearly mortified, but couldn’t help. I messaged the owner on WhatsApp again. About two hours later, she said she “regretted that the property didn’t live up to my expectations,” without even apologizing. I told her the issue wasn’t about expectations, but that I had booked a double room and got a cubicle. Then nothing. We paid the next morning, for the record, they gave us a 5 euro discount that I would gladly have done without, and left in a hurry, promising never to set foot there again. Owning a property is no excuse for treating guests with arrogance and condescension, and losing them for good. One last thing: the website photos are misleading. Some show the Lullo Circle, not the Black Hawk Inn.

In the ancient residence, the setting is beautiful and evocative, while the room is clean and simple. They provide pods for coffee and tea and herbal teas, plus a bottle of water in the room. Breakfast is served nearby at the "cerchio di Lullo". There’s a lot of variety, but no savory options, which is a shame. People’s eating habits are changing in 2025.
