Alfonso a Mare

We were made to feel welcome from the start, and everyone was friendly, helpful and attentive throughout our three-night stay. Our room was spacious, beautiful, clean and well kept, with a large bathroom. The daily towel changes were a nice touch. The location felt like paradise, so peaceful and relaxing. We had a first-class stay at Alfonso a Mare, and some other reviews seem to describe a completely different hotel from the one we experienced. The restaurant was a highlight. It’s right on the beach and the menu is mostly fish, but my dislike of fish wasn’t a problem. On both evenings, the waiter worked with the chef to make me custom first and second courses. They were delicious, high-quality meals, cooked just right and full of flavour. We thanked and complimented the chef in person before leaving. The staff’s willingness to go the extra mile, along with very reasonable prices, made both dinners memorable. We highly recommend Alfonso a Mare and will definitely return. A really cute little hotel. The reception staff are very helpful and good at anticipating what you might need. The rooms are comfortable, and the floor tiles are especially pretty. Phone service is poor because the hotel is basically in a huge hollow in the rock, so expect to rely on Wi-Fi. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal and came with the room.

The staff here are miracle workers. After a really stressful, almost traumatic bus experience, we realised we’d left a bag behind. Somehow the lovely staff got it back to us within a few hours. The hotel itself was beautiful, with incredible views and comfortable beds. I couldn’t stop smiling the whole time.

I stayed in the Amàre Deluxe room, and the view and location were amazing. The interior exceeded my expectations, the staff were all very kind, and breakfast was more than enough. It’s a bit pricey, but I think it’s worth it. My only small complaints were the €40 price for a beach sunbed, which I think the hotel could offer free or at least at a discount, and the weak Wi-Fi in the room. I’d really like to visit again.
