Boutique & spa Sirenahotel

We booked two rooms and asked if a check-in after midnight might be possible. We tried repeatedly to reach the hotel over the whole period, explaining that after a long journey we couldn't predict our arrival time, but heard nothing until 9 p.m. on the day we were due. Then they said we had to arrive by midnight and couldn't check in later. I explained our situation again and asked whether anything could be changed. They said no, cancelled our stay in the middle of the night, and kept the advance payment despite our request for a refund. With four children, including a baby, we ended up having to sleep in the car. I've traveled a lot and never had anything like this happen. A really awful experience, and I strongly recommend avoiding this place. I can't see this way of doing business lasting long. In response to the hotel's reply, I need to correct a few things. I called several times before we arrived and got no answer. They only sent brief chat messages late in the evening, although I had tried to contact them the day before. I asked booking.com about getting the money back, and they told me they had contacted the hotel, which refused the refund. Yes, the reservation was non-refundable, but sometimes accommodations will still return the money, depending on the property. The hotel's Google response reflects how it communicates: it posted my phone number publicly, which I consider a very unprofessional violation of GDPR rules. It's each person's choice whether to stay there, but I strongly advise against it.
