Gabicce Monte made a nicer base for us than Gabicce Mare, and the hotel sits right on its main square with a gorgeous view over the coast. We had a very good stay. The room was compact but thoughtfully laid out, with a balcony, comfortable bed, kettle, and plenty of storage. Breakfast was excellent, and housekeeping was impressively quick. The staff were mostly professional. A few things could be better: the bathroom was very small and dim, the pool wasn't heated, and dogs couldn't join breakfast in the dining room.

The view is something else, and the hotel is a great deal for the price. We ate very well at the restaurant, too. Whenever we're back in the area, this will be our pick for both a meal and a stay.

I live very close by, so I can't really say how the people work or what the place itself is like. I do know it has a wonderful view.

We really enjoyed the breakfast, with fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, cold cuts, and cheese. The balcony and restaurant also have a beautiful view. The rooms, though, are tiny, and noise carries from the rooms beside and above you. There are several notices about things guests aren't allowed to do, including putting their own drinks in the fridge or wearing a bathrobe to the pool. Traveling with our lovely dog was the most frustrating part. At check-in, the hotel requires you to sign a special agreement, but its website doesn't mention it. The dog costs €10 per night, with another charge if you want it in your bed. That feels like a very odd policy. I'd stayed before without anything like this, so perhaps the management has changed. It's a good hotel in many ways, but I'll stay elsewhere next time.

The pool was lovely and warm, and the views are breathtaking. Breakfast overlooking the sea and dinner during the beautiful sunset were both treats. The staff were so kind and attentive to everything we needed. We had an amazing time and would absolutely recommend it. I'll be back.
