The pool isn’t heated, but it’s beautiful once you’re in. In August and September, watch out for the extra mosquitoes 🦟. The rooms work well for three groups of three, especially with two bedrooms. You’ll need a car, and it’s about a 10-minute drive to the town center, where there are great places to eat and drink.

Everything was clean and well kept, and nothing was missing. I had a truly relaxing stay, surrounded by greenery just a few steps from the center of Gaiole, which felt magical. The friendly, kind, and accommodating staff made the experience for me. Thank you, I hope to return, and I highly recommend it.

The location is excellent for visiting Siena, Florence, Arezzo, and Lamole, and there are three nearby wine tastings worth trying: Cantalici, Castello di Metelo, and Capannelle. I walked to Gaiole each morning, about 10 minutes, to pick up bread and groceries at Coop. The village also has some very good restaurants and a wonderful Cantina for wine. La Logetta in Gaiole in Chianti is a beautiful, stately home. We stayed upstairs as two families, five people in all, with a kitchen and living room, three bedrooms listed for three, three, and four people, and two bathrooms. Downstairs are two apartments that I think each sleep four. The pool is lovely and well maintained, with plenty of sunbeds, and each apartment has a covered outdoor seating area. The pool area is also nice for relaxing. Piero, the manager, was very helpful. He speaks only Italian, but communicating in English through the app with his daughter worked really well and was friendly. The refrigerator stopped working properly after a day, which was a nuisance with 32 degrees Celsius outside, but it was dealt with right away and a replacement arrived the next day. From our Dutch perspective, the garden could be much prettier. Maybe those temperatures make that difficult, or perhaps it’s part of the Italian or Tuscan charm? A few things could be improved: one bathroom has only a bathtub, and although you can shower in it, there’s no shower curtain. The Wi-Fi is very slow. The upstairs outdoor seating needs a makeover, including a new BBQ, and I think the garden could be transformed into something lovely. Still, I’d give it four stars.
