The owner gave us vouchers for unlimited parking in a nearby piazza, and the apartment was in a fantastic spot, just a few hundred metres from the city center. It was a small but comfortable split-level apartment in a typical Mantuan house, with the bedroom and bathroom upstairs and a kitchenette and living room downstairs. Service was a bit haphazard: the room was serviced after the first night but not the second. The WiFi didn't work at all during our three-night stay. Breakfast was just coffee and pastries at the family-owned Osteria Libenter, a few minutes' walk away.

We left the car parked for all three days and explored the historic center on foot. A nearby parking lot offered us a special rate of €2.50 a day. The owners were friendly and helpful. We stayed three nights, and the room was tidy and clean, with a refrigerator, stove, and washing machine as well.

The awkward outside stairs were a downside, though the place was comfortable and clean and close to the center. Breakfast was the real disappointment: it was served in an unwelcoming bar, the choices were poor, and only one portion of orange juice was included. We had to pay an extra 0.70, which felt shameful!!!! They should take breakfast off the room price.

The accommodation was lovely and in an excellent location, and the staff were very friendly. There wasn't breakfast service on site, though the kitchenette came in handy.
