The location is good, and the rooms are fine, though a bit dark. Calling it “Luxury” gives the wrong impression. There were several hand towels but no bath towels. Breakfast was supposed to be included, but all we got was jam, milk, and biscuits.

We had a great time on our early September holiday in Gallipoli. Our room was quite spacious, with its own bathroom and air conditioning, and we could use the shared kitchen, living room, and terrace. The apartment is in Gallipoli's historic center, so the nightlife is far away. There were a few issues: no cell phone service, although Wi-Fi was available; the shower pressure was sometimes too strong; and the shower head was blocked and couldn't be lowered. The bedroom windows were stuck, and neither the television nor the living room air conditioning worked. Otherwise, the room was very nice. Outside July and August, guests can get a discount at Samsara by asking the owner when they arrive. The kitchen was well equipped when we stayed, with oil, salt, dish soap, and the like.

The noise outside made the stay unbearable. Every morning around 8 or 8:30, a street seller would stand below the building and shout, waking everyone up. We finally left a day early out of desperation, and it ruined our holiday. The room itself was far smaller than advertised: Booking listed it as 20 square meters, but it was no more than 14 including the bathroom. The wide-angle photos were misleading. We paid 160 a night for a spacious double, yet the bed was extremely uncomfortable, the entrance had an awkward, nearly impossible staircase, and although the room was cleaned well, that only happened every two days. The location was good, but I’d give it zero if I could. I’m required to give at least a 1. Absolutely avoid.

The rooms were pleasant and clean, but the entrance stairs had two bags of dirty laundry on them, and the kitchen balcony had an overflowing bag of rubbish. They wouldn’t take a credit card, so with too little cash on hand we had to go find an ATM.

Staying in Gallipoli’s historic center was a magnificent experience.
