Palazzo Celina

We arrived before check-in, and they let us use the pool at one of their sister hotels while we waited. They provided towels and everything else we needed, and it was a beautiful, relaxing spot. We were also upgraded to a room with a stunning view. Despite the negative cancellation reviews, we had no problems. The hospitality was lovely, and we’d highly recommend this hotel and its sister hotels, Palazzo Flora and Palazzo Presta. Thanks!

I booked through booking.com in May, with payment due to be taken by the business closer to the stay. My bank blocked the transaction because of safety restrictions on my card, so I updated the card and contacted the business by phone and email. They never got back to me, and cancelled my booking just one week before the stay. Booking the same room for the same dates again would now cost an extra $500AUD. Luckily, I found somewhere else during peak season. Very poor service!

A few days before our stay, our reservation was cancelled without any explanation. I called just 30 minutes after the cancellation email arrived and was told it had happened automatically, that it wasn’t their fault, and that the room had already been booked again. It seems clear to me they overbooked and cancelled us so they could rent it at a higher price. There was no apology. The woman just said, “It’s not our fault, it’s the system!” I strongly advise against booking here. Your holiday could start terribly and end up costing even more.

The whole property was stylish and had a really elevated feel, and the breakfast was delicious. Staff were friendly and quick to respond. Our room looked just as gorgeous as the photos, stayed quiet at night, and had great A/C. I loved staying here and would definitely come back :)
