Park Hotel Ville Montefiori

We spent five nights here last September on a mini girls’ trip, and the restaurant was a real highlight. The food was beautifully presented, high quality, and had a fine-dining feel; service was excellent too. The helpful, friendly staff made us feel welcome throughout, and everything was kept very clean. The vintage glamour carries through the hotel, from the statues and outdoor seating to the piano in the indoor bar. Both pools were gorgeous, and the views over Lake Garda were stunning, especially at sunset. The interiors feel distinctly Italian, rich and historical, and the place looks classy and expensive. It’s incredibly underrated and has a lot of charm. Getting around on foot was the biggest problem. The hotel sits at the top of a long, steep hill, and it takes about 10 minutes just to walk down to the main shops and explore Lake Garda. The climb back is tiring, especially in the heat. Taxis won’t come up because it isn’t worth it for them, which can be frustrating. A free shuttle up and down the hill would help a lot. The rooms have beautiful vintage style, beds, and balconies, but they’re on the small side and some furniture looks worn and dated. A light refurbishment, with some new vintage interiors and furniture, would really lift them. I had a lovely stay, and five days felt just right despite those drawbacks. I’d still recommend it for a classy vintage-style stay on Lake Garda. There aren’t many places like it, and it feels like a true 4 star hotel.
